Dr. Shahin Lockman, an infectious-disease trained clinician, has conducted epidemiologic, implementation science, and clinical trials investigation related to HIV-1 in Botswana since 1996, with a focus on optimizing treatment of pregnant women living with HIV and their children. She leads the Botswana Clinical Trials Unit at the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership (BHP) and mentors many early stage investigators and students (from the US and Africa) on a range of HIV-related clinical research projects in Botswana.
